Religious Education

What does it look like for each year group?

In each year group, the majority of teaching in Religious Education is Christianity, which enhances Trinity’s Christian ethos as a Church of England school. In addition, each year the group learns about one other world faith so that, by the time children complete Year 6, they have a knowledge and understanding of aspects of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism.

Our Religious Education overview can be found in the Curriculum Overview and Statement page of this website.

What is our approach to teaching Religious Education?

The teaching of Religious Education at Trinity follows the Northamptonshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education by SACRE. Further, information and resources from the ‘Understanding Christianity’ materials are used in each year group to deepen pupils’ learning.

How often is the subject taught in each year group?

Religious Education is taught for one hour every week in each year group.

Who is responsible for teaching the subject?

Class teachers are responsible for teaching Religious Education.

How can more information be gathered if required?
