Last Friday our Trinity swimming team descended upon Corby Pool once again to compete against the rest of Northampton in the county swimming finals! Upon arrival we were greeted with our official School Games shirts and swimming hats ready for the competition. After a short pep talk the children picked their spot poolside as the teachers were sent for the official briefing. After a few minutes of rule explanation the team were ready to go and began swimming laps for their warm up. With the parents cheering them on from above and the rest of the team and staff cheering from poolside the children swam their hearts out in each and every event with some very close run finishes especially in the Girls and. In no race did Trinity finish last last and were extremely competitive throughout the competition, culminating in the high paced canon race. After a 10 minute wait for scores it was revealed that Trinity had finished 8th in the entire county!

Considering the size of our little school it is truly incredibly for the children to get this far, a first county competition in many years. We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 and 6 children who were an absolute credit to the school throughout. They put their hearts into every second of the competition and we sincerely look forward to next year to hopefully go as far again.

Thank you once again to all of the parents for taking and supporting the children through the whole event, again we can't do these events without your fantastic support.

Year 1’s class assembly!

This week on Thursday year 1 did an amazing class assembly, they based it around the carnival of the animals. They acted out different types of jungle animals and did a fantastic job of it. They acted out and read poems about the chimpanzee, the Zebra, the Lion and its cubs, the tiger, the hippopotamus, the elephant, the crocodile and the Giraffe. They made some incredible art work that they shared with everyone. At the end year 1 sang a song about the jungle animals, it was called the boogie.

On Monday 26th June, the whole school celebrated collective worship at church to remember St Peter (after whom the church in Aldwincle is named).  Children from Years 4, 5 and 6 read beautifully, and Year 3 and the Church ambassadors led prayers.  Thank you to Mrs Brawn for organising it and teaching us more about St Peter.
